8 Days East and Northern Uganda
Highlights: Jinja town, source of the Nile, Boat ride, Sipi Falls, game drive, hiking, Karamojong homestead
Day 1: Arrival Entebbe

On arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by our guide and transferred to your accommodation (Bed and breakfast) either in Entebbe or Kampala for overnight.
Day 2- To Sipi Falls via Jinja (3 hrs to Jinja, 5 hrs to Sipi)

After your breakfast, you will head to the Eastern part of Uganda and visit Jinja town. The town is on the shores of Lake Victoria, and you will visit the source of the river Nile while there. You will take a boat ride on the lake, to the actual source of the Nile where the lake pours into the Nile. After, you will continue your journey to Sipi Falls that is in the foothills of Mt. Elgon National Park.

Day 3- Full day at Sipi

After a relaxed breakfast, you will embark on a 3hr hike through the local communities to visit the Sipi Falls. These falls are formed as a result of Sipi River flowing over the foothills of Mt. Elgon. You will also visit a small coffee producing farm as well as have a taste of local food for lunch. Later in the evening, you will return to your accommodation for overnight.

Day 4- Hike Mt Moroto and visit with the Tepeth tribe
In the early morning, you will leave Sipi for a scenic hike on Mount Moroto, the highest mountain of Karamoja region. You will take a walk/hike on the mountain, and during the walk, you will visit the So Tepeth mountain people and get an insight into their culture and everyday lives.

Day 5- Visit a Manyatta & Drive to Kidepo National Park (5hrs)

In the morning you will visit a traditional Karamojong manyatta before driving to Kidepo Valley National Park. A manyatta is a village made up of several huts that are surrounded by a fence made of branches and thorns. The fence is put up to keep their cattle in and to protect them from thieving rival tribes and wild animals. From this visit, you will learn about the customs and traditions of the Karamojong. After the visit, you will drive further north to Kidepo Valley National Park which is in the semi-arid valleys in northeast Uganda. You will arrive in time for an afternoon game drive, and you will see herds of elephants and buffaloes. You might spot some lions and leopards too.

Day 6- Full day Game Drive

After early morning breakfast, head out for a full day game drive in the National Park. During this drive, you will be able to see some animals like lions, ostriches, zebras, bat-eared foxes, aardwolves, caracals, cheetahs, and greater and lesser kudus. There are also over 470 bird species in the park.
At an additional fee of USD 30 per person, you can opt for a walking safari accompanied by a ranger. This gives you an opportunity to learn a lot about the inhabitants of the park and how to recognize their tracks.

Day 7- Drive to Gulu (5-6 hrs)

In the morning, you will drive to Gulu, the largest town in Northern Uganda. You will have a stopover and overnight in the town.

Day 8- Travel to Entebbe (6-7 hrs)
In the morning you complete the final stretch to Entebbe. Your guide will drop you off at the airport in time for your international flight.
