Highlights: game drives, bird watching, chimp trekking, gorilla trekking, nature walk

The tour takes you to Nyungwe, Southwest of Rwanda. It’s a huge natural forest that is well known for its large troops of Colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, butterflies and a rich variety of orchids. Over 300 bird species have been recorded in this forest. You will also visit Parc National des Volcans (PNV) in the north of Rwanda where about 300 mountain gorillas can be found. The main activity here is the Gorilla trekking.

Day 1: Arrival - Kigali

Arrive at Kigali International Airport. You will be transferred to your accommodation in Kigali City by our representative for an overnight.

Day 2- Kigali to Nyungwe Forest (Approx 6hrs)

Rwanda Wildlife - Monkey

After breakfast, proceed to Nyungwe Forest National Park in the Southwest. You will have stops at local markets, the traditional palace of Rwanda’s Former King in Nyanza, and the cultural museum in Butale. Lunch.

Day 3- Chimp tracking and Bird watching in Nyungwe Forest

An early morning breakfast, then head to the forest to track the chimpanzees. You will an opportunity to see other primates like the large groups of Colobus monkeys and many others. After lunch, you may opt for bird watching where you see some bird species like the Rwenzori Turaco and black and white casqued hornbill. Return to the camp in the late afternoon.

Day 4- To Parc National des Volcanos (Approx 6hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Ruhengeri via Gisenyi, and then proceed north to Kanigi. Along the way, you will enjoy the beautiful rolling hills of which Rwanda.

After breakfast, you will depart for the Park headquarters where you will meet your ranger guide(s) for a briefing about the gorilla trekking. The activity takes about 2 to 3 hrs. Get back to the camp and relax.

Day 6- Golden Monkeys in Rwanda

On this day, you can opt for a second day trekking of the Gorillas or track the golden monkeys. This can be done early morning. You will walk through the bamboo forests so as to view the golden monkeys.

Day 7- Departure

You will be picked up form your hotel after breakfast. Depending on your departure time you will have a tour around Kigali town. Transfer to the Airport for your departure.
