Highlights: Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes National Park

Gorillas in Rwanda can be found at Parc National des Volcans (PNV) in the north. There are about 300 mountain gorillas living in this park. There are five habituated gorilla families namely, Amahoro A, Amahoro B, “Group 13”, Sabinyo, Umubano and Susa. The Parc National des Volcans (PNV) is part of the Virunga Conservation Area and covers more than 125 km².

Day 1- Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Meet at the Kigali International Airport by our driver/guide. You will then proceed to Kanigi. Depending on your arrival time, you may have a tour of Kigali city where you will visit the Genocide Memorial centre at Gisozi.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking

After breakfast, you will depart for the Park headquarters where you will meet your ranger guide(s) for a briefing about the gorilla trekking. The activity takes about 2 to 3 hrs. After lunch, you will transfer to Kigali. You will have stops to have a look at the beautiful scenery of the hills in Rwanda.

Day 3: Departure

You will be picked up from your hotel after breakfast. Depending on your departure time you will have a tour around Kigali town. Transfer to the Airport for your departure.
